The Teen Years
Sharing the practice of yoga with teenagers has the potential to reach the participants on many levels of their being. By using the asanas and breath work as a means of pointing the attention inward to their own experience rather than what their peers might be doing, the yoga class can support their journey of self-discovery and self awareness. At such a potent time of their lives, yoga can empower them to come into balance and understanding their individuality and responsibility to honor themselves.
Restorative Yoga: While we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga poses help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely. During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of deep relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, the increase of the "good cholesterol" levels, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of muscle tension, insomnia and generalized fatigue. In this workshop you’ll learn the elements of various restorative sequences and how they affect different systems and conditions in the body.
